Harvest is approaching…

24th August 2022

Darker nights will soon be approaching and the colour of the leaves will indicate a change in season. Harvest is approaching and here at Barnsley Foodbank Partnership, it’s one of our busiest times of the year.

Harvest donations are crucial to our food bank, as it not only helps us with creating the emergency food parcels, but ensures that we have enough stock on the run up to Christmas.

Coming out of the pandemic, we have not seen a drop in our numbers. They continue to increase as we head towards October, when the cost of living disastrously rises. Referral agents work alongside our food bank, by offering the additional wraparound support and signposting where needed, as well as booking in the food parcels.

By supporting our food bank this Harvest, you are ensuring we can continue operating during these difficult times.

Here’s how you can get involved this Harvest…

School or business collection: A lot of schools like to do food collections in the Autumn for their local food banks. If you are a local school, business or organisation who would like to collect for our food bank this Harvest, please email [email protected] for more information or to arrange one of our limited collection slots.

Harvest template: If you’d like a creative way to donate this Harvest, you can download our 25 Days of Har-vent template here. It’s a fun way of collecting items for our food bank, whether you collect 1 item per day or collect all 25 in one day!

JustGiving: Our JustGiving page is an amazing way to donate virtually. Whether you create a fundraising page, one-off donation or monthly donation, JustGiving is a great platform for donating to our food bank.

Warehouse drop-offs: Our warehouse is open Monday-Friday, 9am-3:30pm for donation drop-offs. We are based at Unit 14 Aldham Industrial Estate, Wombwell, Barnsley, S73 8HA. Please ensure you come into reception and ring the doorbell for assistance, rather than waiting at the loading bay.

Remember, every single donation we receive makes such a big difference. You are changing lives when you donate and we are so grateful for your kindness.
