Give Help

Volunteer

Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the driving force behind food banks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

Warehouse Volunteer

Our warehouse volunteers are a huge part of what we do. They check through our stock, date sorting and ensuring it is neatly stacked on the shelves. They also pick and pack food parcels, then stack them in our handy storage container ready to be sent out.

Volunteer Driver

Our volunteer drivers ensure that food parcels reach our spokes (pick up points). They also collect from local donation points as well as being a big part of our Harvest and Tesco collections.

Helping at a food bank centre

Our spoke volunteers meet clients and give out the food parcels. They offer an informal chat with clients over a cup of tea and a snack, to discuss their situation and signpost to any further support.

If you are interested in volunteering please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
