Donate food

Our foodbank relies on your goodwill and support.

Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks in The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public – that’s why your food donations are absolutely vital to our ability to give everyone referred to us a balanced and nutritious three day supply of food.

Our shopping list on the right shows the food items that we urgently need right now, but all donations are welcome. We always welcome donations and promise to use them to provide help to Barnsley people in crisis.

You can donate to our donation points at the following Tesco and Coop stores in the Barnsley. We use our van to collect your donations from the stores:

Amazon Wish List

We have launched an Amazon Wish List as a way to donate to our Foodbank. It’s an easy, hassle-free way to donate our most needed items. You can follow the link here to view our Wish List, which gets updated weekly. Simply add the items to your basket and choose our address when you checkout.

Supermarket Shop

Have you thought about ordering an online shop for our foodbank?

Doing the weekly shop has never been easier thanks to the introduction of supermarket online shopping, meaning that deliveries go directly to your home. Most supermarkets have apps and websites that now allow you to buy your groceries online, some even delivering on the same day!

You can order donations for the Barnsley Foodbank Partnership from your local supermarket online in the same way by simply changing the delivery address, and it’s an easy way to contribute to the work that we do in supporting families and individuals in crisis.

How would it work?

As soon as your donations arrive at our foodbank in Wombwell, they’re immediately sorted into food parcels to support Barnsley citizens, so this is a really valuable mode of support.

If you’re thinking of doing an online supermarket shop for Barnsley Foodbank Partnership, here’s a few things to keep in mind:

  • Time slots must be chosen between 9am-3:30pm, meaning our volunteers can collect and sort the food as soon as it arrives.
  • The delivery address must be changed to our address to ensure it gets delivered to us: Barnsley Foodbank Partnership, Unit 14 Aldham Industrial Estate, Mitchell Way, Wombwell, Barnsley, S73 8HA.
  • Unfortunately, we can’t accept frozen food, fresh food or baby milk.
