With the football season coming to a close, Barnsley FC collected for our food bank one last time at their final home game this season.
Teaming up with Reds in the Community, Barnsley FC launched Reds Against Hunger last year to raise awareness and donations for our food bank. The equivalent of 381 meals was collected at the final game of the season, bringing the grand total to over 1,880 meals across all of the collections.
Fans were encouraged to bring food or monetary donations with them to the games, with everything going towards Barnsley Foodbank Partnership.
Georgina Arnold, Development Administration at Barnsley Foodbank Partnership, said;
“We are so grateful for the support from Barnsley FC and Reds in the Community. Reds Against Hunger has had such a huge impact on our food bank and all of the donations have gone towards emergency food parcels for individuals in the Barnsley area. A huge thank you to all of the amazing fans who contributed too.”
