Since we brought our new warehouse operative, Dan, into Barnsley Foodbank Partnership, we have seen some fantastic progress in the Foodbank.
Dan has recently become a full time member of the Foodbank team and has taken to his role with a spring in his step. From greeting visitors, to seeing over the volunteers, to stock rotation and prepping food parcels, he’s been involved with it all!
He has recently focused on our storage area, where we keep our stock before going onto the shelves for the food parcel preparation, and has done such a brilliant job of organising the stock. Our volunteers have also been extremely helpful in the process, with some donating 2-3 days per week of their time.
Dan said: “I really enjoy coming into work everyday and helping people. I’m always busy and it never gets boring! It’s such a rewarding job and it’s been especially rewarding seeing the storage area flourish into a tidy, organised space for our stock.”
