Covid-19 Update- November 2020

We thought we would give everyone an update after the recent ‘2nd lockdown’ announcement. Barnsley Foodbank Partnership will continue operations, working as hard as ever to aid those in crisis with emergency food parcels.

Up to press, our yearly Trussell Trust Tesco Collection will go still ahead on 19th, 20th and 21st November, at Tesco Penistone, Hoyland and Stairfoot. Our friendly volunteers will be on hand from 10am-6pm at the front of the store and we will be collecting donations for our foodbank. This year, the rules are slightly different, with our volunteers wearing face masks and keeping their 2m distance at all times. But, we hope that this brilliant collection will still go ahead and we look forward to seeing you all (from a distance!).

We also continue to use PPE. Our team members wear face coverings whilst in the warehouse and making deliveries, and we have contactless hand sanitising stations around the building too. If you are coming to drop off donations at the warehouse, please ensure you have a face covering as you enter the reception and keep your distance with our team members.

We aim to continue on as normal, with some brilliant plans coming up towards Christmas, but it is such a difficult situation for everyone at the moment. Any updates regarding changes to how we operate will be published online as soon as we know about them.

Lastly, a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to us over the past few weeks. The news of Tier 3, closely followed by the lockdown happened very quickly and we did not expect such a fantastic, dedicated response. Every single donation, no matter how big or small, is making such a difference right now and we can’t thank you all enough. From buying donations for us, to using our Amazon wishlist, to creating fundraising campaigns…even selling your beloved football collection…everything is so appreciated.
